RAMA TMT - Advantages of Fe - 500 over Fe - 415
Today the trend has started of moving towards TMT 500 steel bars or a bar conforming to IS : 1786 :2008 Fe 500. You can save about 17% of steel over Fe415 by proper design which is about Rs. 15000/- per truckload. Please see below for some basic calculations to convince yourself.

Therefore one ton of TMT Fe 500 is equivalent to 1 x 5100 / 4250 = 1.2 ton of TMT- Fe 415.
